Challenging Choices - Ethical Issues in Long Term Care
for Professionals, Staff, Residents and Families
Webcast
In the long term care setting, ethical decision-making is complicated by the vulnerabilities of a frail population, dementia, limited funding, family issues, and a heavy layer of bureaucratic regulation. This session will examine ethical standards of nursing facility administrators, nurses and social workers and how they interface with residents rights and daily challenges. With reference to particular issues facing long term care providers, we will examine how professionals' ethical standards apply and how professionals can utilize such resources as state and federal regulations, the peer review process and facility ethics committees to guide ethical decision-making.
Join our speakers, Fran Hamermesh & Cory D. Macdonald, Attorneys, Davis & Wilkerson, P.C. in Austin, as they present this valuable information!
